What is Search Engine Optimization?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.  It is commonly understood as a traffic strategy to achieve higher search rankings on Google, Yahoo!, MSN and other search engines.

The reason so many folks are fascinated by SEO, is because it is a very powerful means for getting your website ranked for high traffic keywords on Google, drive free targeted traffic to your website and generate ongoing free leads.

Unlike PPC (Adwords), the goal of SEO is to get your website showing on the left side of the search engine for free, instead of paying to have your ad displayed on the right side.

Although we endorse and use pay-per-click quite a bit in our marketing, over the past few years it has become increasingly competitive, and depending on the market you are in, clicks on your ad may range from $0.03 per click to $10.00 per click.

Pay-per-click also requires ongoing maintenance and other advertisers whom are willing to pay more can knock you down in the rankings.

However the main benefit of PPC is instant traffic and is excellent for honing your skills as a direct response marketer, because with PPC, you have no choice, you better make your traffic convert or your out a lot of money.

On the Other Hand, the Benefits of SEO are Quite Clear…

They include getting ranked for keywords you didn’t intentionally try to rank for, getting recognized as an authority site by the search engines and your peers, gaining automatic trust through your visitors, etc.

The top (and obvious) benefit is of course, free ongoing traffic.

If you manage to rank well for high traffic keywords, which would cost an arm and a leg on Adwords, you are in an excellent position to make a lot of money as long as you are able to convert the traffic to sales.

But SEO Isn’t All Sunshine and Rainbows

Getting high rankings for competitive keyterms will take a little time and you have to know what you are doing.

You’ll need to understand how Google works and you’ll need the right tools to get the job done.

If you do SEO wrong and happen to piss Google off, you runs the risk of getting your website knocked down in rankings or banned from the search engines altogether. We have personal experience in pissing off the Google Gods, so we are living proof that they do get angry. :)

So it’s vital you learn the RIGHT way to SEO.

In our opinion SEO is the most powerful traffic strategy available and when done right, will allow you to swallow markets whole. Just stick with us and you wont’ have to worry about getting it wrong.

PPC & SEO Go Hand in Hand - Getting an Unfair SEO Advantage

Also believe it or not, if you have done well for yourself with PPC, you are at a great advantage when it comes to doing SEO.  A big part of SEO is knowing the “money keywords” you want to rank for.  In other words, keywords, which actually convert to sales consistently and even with PPC, are very profitable.

When you SEO for your “money keywords“, which have been tested using PPC, you are in a position to more than double your exposure and profits by having listings in both the natural and pay-per-click results.  This translates to more money, more leads and more distributors for your business.

If you’ve never done PPC before, don’t worry. The level of PPC skill you’ll need for testing keywords is pretty basic and doesn’t require you to become an AdWords master.
